March 8 – LaLiga’s Real Betis Balompié has agreed a deal with FX payments provider Corpay Cross-Border to become the club’s first team training kit sponsor as well as the official FX payments provider.
Corpay’s logo will be on training kits while the company will also receive digital assets, stadium advertising and match day hospitality including the opportunity to offer unique experiences to fans and clients.
The two-year agreement runs until June 2025. No value was given for the sponsorship.
Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis, outlined the importance of the agreement for a club that is performing at the top end of European football.
“We are partnering with a world scale brand, that will also bring a direct benefit for the club’s operations. Corpay will have a prominent space, such as our training kits, which generate high visibility,” said Alarcón.
Real Betis have qualified for three of the last four editions of the Europa League and on Thursday face Manchester United in the second leg of their round of 16 tie. Last season the club won the Copa del Rey, beating local rivals Valencia on penalties in the final. Betis are currently fifth in LaLiga and three points off a Champions League qualification place.
It is the increased international footprint that European club football has given Betis that is an attraction to Corpay who will also support the club’s women’s soccer team, its indoor football programme and the Real Betis Basketball team.
