Turkey’s Buraspor agrees one season stadium naming rights deal as it targets climb back up the leagues

May 15 – Turkey’s Bursaspor has sold the naming rights to its stadium to Turkish company Sütaş.

The one-year deal is worth 20 million Turkish lira (€930,000) and will see Bursaspor’s stadium renamed Sütaş Crocodile Park.

Sütaş Süt Ürünleri A.Ş is a Turkish company that specialises in milk products such as yogurt, ayran, cheese, strained yogurt, kaymak, kefir and butter.

In the last few years, Bursaspor has been experiencing very serious financial problems that contributed to the club being relegated to League 2 (the third tier of Turkish football). Bursaspor’s stadium was built in 2015 and is one of the most modern in Turkey with a capacity of 43,361 seats.

With the signing of the new sponsorship deal, the club hopes that it will be able to overcome the financial crisis and attack the top places in the division.

“On behalf of Bursaspor community, I would like to thank Sütaş family, one of the deep-rooted companies of Bursa, our Minister for leading us in this process, and our Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality”, said the president of Bursaspor Ömer Furkan Banaz.

“I hope that if we can unite our community and our city with this and similar partnerships, we will eliminate the environment we are in on behalf of Bursaspor as quickly as possible. We hope that the current agreement will bring blessings on behalf of our community. Hopefully this will be a spark. The next process will be much better for Bursaspor,” he added.

Sütaş Southern Marmara Regional Manager Altun Aktaş said: “We are giving our support to Bursaspor with the hope of seeing Bursaspor in better places in the coming period and expecting a more successful result next year. Good luck to everyone.”
