Puma bounces Mitre out the game with official ball deal in Scotland

May 24 – Scotland’s top men’s and women’s leagues have appointed Puma as the official match ball provider in a multi-year deal starting with the 2023/24 season.

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) previously has Mitre as the ball supplier. Puma will provide the leagues first-ever bespoke match-ball, exclusively designed to be used throughout the 2023/24 season.

Puma is also the official match ball provider for La Liga, Serie A and the EFL

The Orbita ball features unique colourways inspired by the SPFL and SWPL logos. It will be used across all four divisions of the SPFL that kick off August 5

Neil Doncaster, SPFL Chief Executive, said: “This is a significant and exciting partnership for the SPFL and SWPL as we join forces together with PUMA, a brand renowned for its excellence and innovation in sports.  This new partnership will provide our clubs with a match-ball of the highest quality, and also provides the League with additional value and promotional opportunities.”

The bespoke SWPL match-ball will debut at the start of the SWPL and SWPL 2 seasons, on August 13 and also across the Sky Sports Cup competition, which commences on September 3.
