Croatia’s NK Osijek sells new stadium naming rights to Opus

July 7 – Croatia’s NK Osijek has sold the naming rights of its new 13,500-capacity stadium to Hungary’s Opus Global.

The stadium previously known as Gradski Vrt is set to be officially opened on July 22. No value was given for the deal.

Last weekend, the management of Osijek held an ‘open’ day where fans had the opportunity to visit and see the club’s new stadium for free.

Opus Arena is the first fully covered stadium in Croatia built at a cost of €65 million.

The club: “The new stadium of NK Osijek will be called Opus Arena! The Hungarian holding Opus Global, which is active in the construction, energy, agriculture, food industry and tourism sectors, among other things, bought the multi-year right to use the name of the new NK Osijek stadium.

“Opus Arena in Osijek is a stadium that meets the UEFA category 4 standard, has 13,005 covered seats, 454 VIP seats, nine Sky Boxes and is the only fully covered stadium in Croatia. During the construction, care was taken to meet all the needs required by the organization of a football match at the highest level today. Apart from football, the stadium can also be used for various other events such as conferences, exhibitions, presentations and various other events.

The logo of Opus Global and Opus Arena, specially designed for the new stadium, will be integrated into the internal and external branding of the new stadium. The first official match at Opus Arena will be played on July 22, 2023 at 9 p.m. between Osijek and Slaven Belup in the 1st round of the SuperSport HNL.”
