Kane breaks scoring records with hat-trick against Dortmund in Der Klassiker

November 6 – Bundesliga new boy Harry Kane netted another hat trick in his debut Der Klassiker this weekend as Bayern Munich ran out 4-0 victors in Germany’s biggest game.

The display marks back-to-back hat tricks in the Bundesliga for England’s captain, after netting three times against Darmstadt last week in a second-half 8-0 thumping, including a headline-hugging goal from the halfway line.

Kane has now scored a record-breaking 15 goals in 10 matches since joining the Bavarians, a goal scoring record in the Bundesliga for a debut season.

Dortmund have coped well so far this season following the loss of superstar midfielder and last season’s Bundesliga player of the year Jude Bellingham, as die Schwarzgelben were unbeaten ahead of the 4-0 thrashing to their greatest rivals.

Dortmund’s eagerness to sell crucial players, like Bellingham, Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho in consecutive summer windows, could be coming back to bite them as FC Bayern continue to strengthen.

The Bundesliga’s perennial runners-up fell victim to a lightning start from the German champions, who went 2-0 up inside ten minutes courtesy of Dayot Upamecano and Harry Kane. The remainder of the game was dominated by FC Bayern, as Kane went on to triple his goal tally.

Bundesliga front runners Bayer Leverkusen, helmed by ex-Bayern midfielder Xabi Alonso, keep the pressure on the Bavarians after a 5-goal thriller versus Hoffenheim. Leverkusen remain unbeaten in all competitions this season.

Bayern Munich turn their attention to the Champions League in midweek, as they host Galatasary at the Allianz arena. The Bavarians sit top of UCL group A, with three wins from three.
