CAF’s new Unilever sponsorship just makes it in time for AFCON 2023 kick-off

January 10 – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled Unilever personal care brands, including Rexona, Dove and Axe, as the latest Official Sponsors of its two forthcoming continental championships: the Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 (which kicks off Saturday) and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.

The sponsorship will be activated between Unilever International, Unilever’s Global Business Unit, and Unilever’s Personal Care Business Group. In addition the agreement involves joint initiatives between Unilever and CAF across the African continent.

Unilever, one of the world’s biggest brand advertisers, has been expanding its football sponsorship portfolio, which includes agreements with UEFA, FIFA, and recent ventures into club football, notably the ‘Dirt is Good’ campaign partnership with Arsenal FC last year.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe said: “Our partnership with Unilever and our sponsors are contributing to CAF achieving its objective of making CAF Competitions and African Football globally competitive and appealing to football fans and broadcasting viewers in Africa and worldwide.

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 which will kick off on January 13, is expected to be watched by over 800 million people Worldwide.
