Kosovo FA unveil 4-year development and facilities plan through to 2028

February 22 – The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) have unveiled a four-year strategy for the development of Kosovar football. Titled ‘Foundations of the future’, the strategy will be implemented for the 2024-28 period.

The strategy was presented by Kosovo FA president Agim Ademi at a special ceremony attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajrulla Çeku, representatives of FIFA and UEFA.

“This strategy is the federation’s path towards the development of Kosovar football in the coming years. It contains our vision for the future and guarantees development and progress. We are committed to fulfilling all the points of this strategy, in order to create opportunities for further advancement for the football community,” said Ademi.

“Our goal is to have a training field in every corner of the country. And this cannot be done without the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, which has already started implementing its strategy for improving the infrastructure, with the works on the Adem Jashari stadium, while the works on the Fadil Vokrri stadium will also start very soon.”

Minister Çeku contratulated the FFK and Ademi, saying the government was “also committed to long-term strategic planning. In cooperation with the FFK and the municipalities, we are consolidating the stadiums. President Ademi mentioned the investments in the Adem Jashari and Fadil Vokrri stadiums, but we are treating the other stadiums with equal diligence. Within five years, I believe that Kosovo will complete the topic of sports infrastructure.”

Adam Walker, FFK strategy mentor from UEFA Grow, said: “This clearly shows that you are committed to testing the status quo and finding the best way to develop your country’s football. In addition, you have undertaken a clear vision for your strategy to be as reflective as possible… The hard work starts tomorrow. While creating a strategy is a challenge, its daily implementation will be very important.”
