Atlético sell out Metropolitano, announce record season ticket numbers

October 21 – La Liga’s Atlético de Madrid have confirmed that every season ticket seat at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano has been sold for the 2025/26 campaign. Even the VIP section, usually the last and most expensive offering, has been snapped up.

A record-breaking total of 61,304 season ticket holders confirms that Atléti remain firmly part of Spanish football’s big three. While city rivals Real Madrid (who they recently thrashed), may dominate global headlines with Galáctico signings and commercial might, Atlético likes to point out that its growth is being built on something more organic – loyalty, identity, and devotion.

According to the club, “every seat allocated for season tickets has now been filled,” underscoring the “high level of loyalty and engagement among Atlético supporters.” That loyalty is translating into big numbers off the pitch, too, with the club claiming 150,000 registered members, placing Atlético among Europe’s elite in terms of supporter base.

Madrid has typically belonged to Los Blancos, but Atlético’s achievement in selling every single seat despite winning the league title only twice in thirty years proves that passion, persistence, and community can rival even the brightest lights of footballing royalty.
