Vancouver Whitecaps link up with Sports Interactive and Football Manager

December 4 – Vancouver Whitecaps FC have announced a new partnership with Sports Interactive. The deal linking both parties sees the Whitecaps becoming the first Major League Soccer (MLS) club to formally team up with the makers of the world’s favourite data-driven game, Football Manager.

The agreement gives the Whitecaps access to FMDB Pro, the professional scouting and performance database used by clubs and federations around the world.

As data becomes the go-to tool for recruitment, the deal places the Whitecaps at the forefront of professional scouting in MLS, with the added bonus of becoming a member of the Football Manager family.

Football Manager is not just a game; it’s a cultural phenomenon with millions of fans building emotional ties to clubs with late-night scouting sessions and the thrill of unearthing hidden talent. Getting the Whitecaps inside that ecosystem is a game-changer for an MLS club looking to expand their reach.

FMDB Pro is an encyclopaedia of data with tens of thousands of player reports, detailed performance markers, and a deep network of researchers covering leagues that most MLS clubs rarely touch.

Vancouver will now have tools that include international scouting depth, benchmarking across leagues, projected career trajectories, and market-value modelling. With MLS moving tin line with the international calendar in 2027 and opening up the transfer market in a way the league has not yet experienced, the Whitecaps are getting ahead of the game.

For Football Manager players, pay attention to the clubs that do smart business. They follow the teams whose signings they recognise from the game. They often become fans of the clubs they’ve spent hours managing on their laptops.

By becoming the first MLS club to officially link up with Sports Interactive, Vancouver isn’t just modernising their scouting department. They’re putting themselves directly into the conversation for a massive, global fanbase that already sees Football Manager as the sport’s unofficial classroom.
