Visit Qatar extends PSG sponsorship to end 2028

December 15 – Paris Saint-Germain and Visit Qatar have agreed to extend their commercial partnership through to 2028, further entrenching a relationship that has become one of the longest-running state-linked sponsorships in European club football.

The renewal was unveiled in Doha alongside the opening of the Ici C’est Paris Park, with the announcement framed by a large-scale promotional event and a drone display over the city. Former PSG midfielder Marco Verratti was used as the public face of the launch, underlining the club’s continued reliance on past and present figures to legitimise off-pitch commercial messaging.

The deal will see Visit Qatar remain a premium partner of Qatari-owned PSG’s men’s and women’s football teams and its handball operation. In practical terms, the deal preserves a marketing arrangement that has been in place since the 2012/13 season, during which time PSG’s global rise has closely tracked Qatar’s expanding footprint across elite European sport.

Over the past decade, the partnership has leaned heavily on player visits, lifestyle content and destination marketing aimed at positioning Qatar as a leisure and stopover hub. PSG players and former stars have regularly featured in promotional trips designed to highlight the country’s hospitality, cultural offering and major event infrastructure.

Richard Heaselgrave, Chief Revenue Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, said: “Today marks the continuation of a shared story. Visit Qatar and Paris Saint-Germain have built a relationship grounded in long-term vision, creativity and cultural connection.

“Over more than a decade, this partnership has grown into one of our most meaningful and enduring collaborations, and its renewal reflects our confidence in its long-term potential. Celebrating this new chapter in Doha, during the opening of Ici C’est Paris Park, highlights the depth of our cooperation and our commitment to inspiring fans and travellers around the world.”

Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, said: “Together, we have built a relationship that goes beyond sport, one that reflects shared values of creativity, excellence and global connectivity.

“The opening of ICI C’est Paris Park in Doha is a testament to our commitment to delivering meaningful experiences for fans and visitors. As we enter this new chapter, we look forward to amplifying Qatar’s appeal as a vibrant destination where world-class sport, culture and hospitality come together.”

No value was given for the sponsorship.
