February 12 – beIN Media Group has secured exclusive broadcast rights to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games across the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).
The agreement grants beIN multi-platform rights across linear television and streaming, allowing coverage to run across its flagship beIN Sports channels and the TOD over the top (OTT) platform.
Football, as ever, will sit at the centre of regional interest. The Olympic men’s and women’s tournaments remain a blue-ribboned event in the wider football ecosystem.
With an emphasis on youth, the Olympic tournament is a breeding ground for the next generation, while also a chance for established superstars to complete a bucket list moment in their careers.
For audiences across MENA, Olympic football often carries a different emotional weight to club competitions, offering national identity on a global stage and a chance to upset the traditional powers of the game.
“The Olympic Games represent the pinnacle of global sport and culture, and we are proud to continue our long-standing, trusted partnership with the IOC, bringing the Games to millions of viewers across the MENA region,” said beIN Media Group Chief Executive Yousef Al-Obaidly.
The rights package also includes the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games, alongside the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar and the 2028 Youth Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
IOC President Kirsty Coventry also said, “We are pleased to continue our partnership with beIN Media Group in the Middle East and North Africa. Through its extensive reach and sports broadcast expertise, beIN is a leader in its industry.”
The deal spans 24 territories, underlining the Olympics’ enduring power and football’s ability to cut across borders, generations, and platforms.
