February 17 – The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has confirmed a four-year extension of its partnership with DHL Express Ireland, who will remain the association’s official logistics partner.
DHL has been working alongside the FAI since the mid-1990s and will continue to provide logistical support across ‘all levels of the game’, including the men’s and women’s senior national teams as well as Ireland’s various international squads.
The renewed agreement also sees DHL maintain its backing of the FAI’s Football in Schools initiative through the ‘Me & My Ball’ programme, helping to deliver free footballs to primary schools across the country.
Brian Murray, Commercial and Same Day Director with DHL Express Ireland, welcomed the extension. “We are delighted to renew this longstanding partnership and reconfirm our commitment to providing our unparalleled logistics expertise to the FAI,” he said.
“As Official Logistics Partner to the FAI for nearly 30 years, we have been proud to support Irish international football at all levels.
“More recently with the addition of the Ireland Women’s National Team and the Primary School initiative ‘Me and My Ball’, DHL has reinforced our long-term commitment not just to Irish football but to the communities it serves.
“As a logistics partner we know the value of teamwork, reliability and performance – qualities we are proud to support on and off the pitch.”
Sean Kavanagh, Commercial Director with the FAI, underlined the importance of the relationship.
“It is fantastic to continue our long-standing partnership with DHL who have made a significant contribution to Irish football over the past few decades,” he said.
“DHL play a vital role for our international teams, ensuring we have our product and kit no matter where we are playing around the world and we are excited to continue that work together.”
