May 15 – Politically Hungary’s media landscape may be in a state of flux, but its need for premium football product appears unaffected.
UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and European Football Clubs (EFC) that controls and manages the strategic marketing, sales and delivery of commercial rights for UEFA club competitions, has entered exclusive negotiation periods for all three UEFA men’s club competitions.
RTL are set to retain the premium Champions League media rights for the 2027–31 media rights cycle.
In 2023 RTL Hungary won the Champions League rights exclusively in Hungary for the 2024-27 rights cycle. RTL shows 192 matches, with top games and the final airing on its linear TV channels, with the remainder of the games on its RTL+ streaming service.
For the new rights cycle AMC – which operates 30 channels in Eastern Europe – is in exclusive negotiation for first pick-related rights to the Europa League (UEL) and UEFA Conference League (UECL) in Hungary.
RTL will pick up all remaining UEL and UECL match-related rights for the same period.
The exclusive negotiation periods have been entered into following a tender process by UC3 and its agency, Relevent Football Partners.
