October 15 – Boston Legacy FC, one of two new expansion clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), just announced that TJ Maxx will become its first front-of-shirt sponsor, a deal that places the Massachusetts-based home goods retailer, figuratively, at the heart of the team’s debut 2026 campaign.
The partnership gives TJ Maxx the prime logo spot on all home and away kits, as well as branding across their temporary home, Gillette Stadium, where Legacy will play during renovations of their permanent digs at White Stadium. The company’s logo will also feature on fan merchandise, interview backdrops, and digital content throughout the season.
With front-of-shirt deals standard throughout club football worldwide, sponsors are capitalising on the overlap between fandom and fashion. This marketing play reflects a trend in women’s and men’s football, where athletes are as likely to appear on magazine covers as they are in the stats department.
With TJ Maxx headquartered in Massachusetts, the timing and synergy of the deal speak to a long-term strategy that involves local partnerships.
No value or terms has been given for the sponsorship. Boston Legacy FC will kick off its 32-game inaugural season in 2026.
