‘12th Man’ survey puts Brits at top of most passionate fans. 13th man needed?

June 2 – A survey by Champions League sponsor Mastercard has seen British football fans voted the most passionate in Europe. ‘The 12th Man’ study saw 32% vote for British fans, ahead of 16% for Spanish fans and 12% for Italian fans.

June 2 – Italian league and Cup double winners Juventus who tomorrow face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Cardiff, have confirmed that their Juventus Stadium will be renamed Allianz Stadium from July 1.

Ceferin says China must wait as 2030 World Cup should be in Europe

June 1 – In his first public comment on the issue, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin says the 2030 World Cup should go to Europe and that China should not be allowed to jump the queue and must abide by current regional hosting rules.

Atletico Madrid fury over transfer ban that could kill Greizmann talks with Man Utd

June 1 – Atletico Madrid have reacted furiously after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) threw out their last-ditch appeal against a transfer ban imposed by FIFA for signing non-Spanish players under the age of 18, saying the verdict will cause “irreparable damage”.

Spurs secure £400m bank loan to complete £740m stadium build

June 1 – Premier League Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £400 million five-year bank loan to support the construction of the club’s new 61,500 seat new stadium. The facility is being provided by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and HSBC Bank.
