Swiss international Ismaili’s body recovered from Lake Como

July 3 – The body of Swiss international women’s footballer Florijana Ismaili has been found days after she vanished following a swimming accident at Lake Como in Italy just over the Swiss border.

June 25 – Germany’s Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 have reported that 18,885,620 tickets were sold for matches in the 2018-19 season – the second highest figure on record.

Sala crash: British police arrest pilot on ‘suspicion of manslaughter’ charge

June 20 – In an unexpected twist over the tragic death of Argentinian footballer Emiliano Sala who lost his life when a light aircraft carrying him to Cardiff two days after he signed for the club crashed into the English Channel, a  64-year-old man – who reports say is a pilot –  has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Pogba’s agent Raiola back in business internationally as CAS cogitates but Italian ban sticks

June 13 – Football super-agent Mino Raiola has had a three-month worldwide ban from football activity suspended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport while it processes his appeal, with a final decision to be made at the beginning of July.

June 7 – The umbrella body representing European clubs insists that peace and harmony has broken out among its members and that while there are understandable concerns about the future of the Champions League from all parties, there are no longer any divisions.

June 7 – Manchester City, desperate not to be punished by UEFA as they chase winning Europe’s premier club trophy, have filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to block UEFA’s pursuit of a Champions League ban for violating Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
