October 2 – News that payday lender and Newcastle United sponsor Wonga will be writing off £220 million of debt owed by 330,000 customers gives additional credibility to recent speculation the company is reconsidering its 4-year sponsorship of the Premier League club in light of falling profits and increasing regulation in its home market.
September 26 – Manchester City has announced a new partnership with Malaysia’s leading male grooming brand, Dashing. The deal makes Dashing Manchester City’s Official Personal Male Care Partner in Malaysia for the next two years.
September 23 – English football may be trying to take a lead in stamping out racism but discrimination is far from being eliminated on social media as witnessed by the fact that police have opened an investigation after Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli was subjected to racist online abuse for sending a tweet.

August 22 – Last week the Premier League told BBC Newsbeat that they were going to clamp down on the sharing of goal videos online, claiming the tweeting of copyrighted material is illegal. However, experts on copyright law have challenged that assertion, pointing to a new provision in copyright law, due to take effect in October, which will provide a right under certain circumstances to quote from copyrighted materials.
August 19 – English Premier League club Crystal Palace have been fined over how they obtained leaked details of an opponent’s starting line-up ahead of a fixture last season.

August 15 – The new English Premier League season gets under way this weekend amid renewed concerns over the cost of ticket prices. Yesterday the Football Supporters’ Federation organised a march towards the London headquarters of the Premier League wielding banners declaring “Football without fans is nothing” and “Demand cuts in ticket prices”.
August 14 – Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, fresh from their pre-season tour of the US, have returned to North America to sign a youth ‘soccer’ partnership with Tallahasse United who will rename themselves Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur.
August 13 – Premier League Champions Manchester City have announced two new partnerships days before they begin the defence of their league crown. Asian firm QNet will become the club’s Official Direct Selling Partner, while T.M. Lewin has become the club’s new Official Formal Wear Partner.
August 12 – Betting operator 666Bet have added to its Premier League portfolio becoming a platinum partner of newly promoted Leicester City. 666Bet is already the betting partner at West Bromwich Albion and most recently added Leyton Orient, becoming shirt sponsor at the League One club.
