October 20 – Belgium and Sweden will not continue their Euro 2024 qualifier that was abandoned at half time following the terrorist attack that killed two Swedish supporters in the centre of Brussels on October 16.
October 18 – With two games to spare, England qualified for a major tournament for the eighth successive time as they reached Euro 24 after defeating Italy 3-1 at Wembley on Tuesday, avenging their heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat at the same venue in the delayed 2020 final.
October 17 – Austria have sealed a place at Euro 2024 at the expense of Sweden who missed out for the first time in 28 years and whose misery was compounded by their own fixture with Belgium being abandoned at halftime after the appalling tragedy of two Swedish nationals being shot dead in Brussels.
October 16 – Scotland have qualified for next year’s Euros with two games to spare thanks to Spain’s 1-0 win over Norway last night, which has guaranteed Steve Clarke’s men a top-two finish in group A. The result also put Spain into the 2024 finals.
October 12 – UEFA has confirmed that the Euro 2024 qualifier between Kosovo and Israel has been postponed because of travel restrictions for Israeli national teams.
October 11 – Israel’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Switzerland has been postponed until November 15 following the deadly attacks by Hamas militants.
October 10 – The UK and Ireland were today confirmed as joint hosts of Euro 2028 following a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee amid considerable debate over how the qualification process will work.

October 5 – On a night of high and low emotions in the Champions League, Newcastle United spectacularly overcame star-studded PSG 4-1 at an electric St James Park, while Belgian champions Antwerp failed to win their first-ever UCL match after giving away a two-goal lead on home soil in a 3-2 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine.
October 4 – UEFA have announced they have received the formal bid by Turkey and Italy to jointly host the 2032 European Championships, leaving Britain and Ireland as the sole bidder for the 2028 tournament, subject to final approval from the governing body’s executive committee next week.
October 3 – UEFA has launched ticket sales for next year’s European championship in Germany with ticket prices ranging from €30 in the group stages to €2,000 for the final.
September 27 – The UEFA executive committee have appointed the Warsaw, Poland, as hosts of the 2024 UEFA Super Cup at their meeting in Limassol, Cyprus.
