September 29 – The geo-politics of world football have taken another significant twist with an agreement by UEFA and Conmebol to stage a showpiece inter-continental fixture between their respective champions next summer that could end up becoming an established part of the calendar – seemingly without the official approval of FIFA.

UEFA bows to Madrid court and drops sanctions against Barca, Juve and Real

September 28 – UEFA has dropped sanctions against all 12 clubs who had formed the European Super League (ESL) breakaway, following the ruling in a Madrid court ordering the European governing body to scrap any penalties imposed on Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Drug trafficker Brunswijk banned as Concacaf disqualifies Moengo Tapoe and CD Olimpia

September 27 – Concacaf has disqualified Suriname’s Moengo Tapoe and Honduras’ CD Olimpia from the Concacaf League with immediate effect because of “serious breaches of integrity” following an investigation into Ronnie Brunswijk’s 54-minute cameo in the match and visit to the opponent’s dressing room with cash in hand.

September 27 – Corinthians retained their women’s league crown in Brazil on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Palmeiras, winning a third overall league title and becoming the most successful club in domestic women’s football.

No win for Victory TV as UEFA and EPL win anti-piracy case in Rwandan court

September 27 – The battle against piracy saw a significant win for rights holders and owners at the end of last week when a Rwandan court in Kigali ruled against an appeal that would have seen UEFA and English Premier League continue to be broadcast without rights fee in the country.
