June 16 – Is revolution coming belatedly to Brazilian club football? Local top flight clubs want to establish a league governing body to run the Serie A and gain more of an influence in how the Brazilian game is administered. Currently the league is controlled by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

June 2 – Brazil has confirmed Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Cuiaba and Goiania as the host cities for the 2020 Copa America in a fortnight’s time after both Argentina and Colombia were stripped of the hosting only for Jair Bolsonaro and Brazil, one of the epicenters of the global health crisis, to step in at the eleventh hour.
