May 17 – FIFA delegates, comprising of representatives from the participating National Federations and officials from the world governing body, have completed their tour of Singapore ahead of the team sports draws for 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games which are set to take place tomorrow.

April 5 – FIFA have refused to back down in the row over Iran women’s football team being banned from wearing the hijab at the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore later this year and have announced that Thailand will replace them in the tournament.

April 3 – The Iranian Olympic Committee has called on Muslim states around the world to protest to FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after the country’s women’s football team were banned were from wearing the hijab at this year’s inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.

December 3 – Players like Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney (pictured) will be eligible to play at London 2012 after FIFA today decided to retain its current under-23 status plus three over-age players at the Olympics.
November 27 – UEFA have unanimously backed a proposal to limit participation in future Olympic Games to players under the age of 21 which, if adopted, would keep players like Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi (pictured) out of the London 2012 Games.
