June 22 – The mayor of Munich has described as “shameful” a ruling by UEFA to ban his city’s plans to illuminate the Allianz Arena in rainbow colours in support of LGBTQ+ rights for tonight’s Germany-Hungary Euro 2020 clash.

Racism and discrimination ruin Hungary’s Euro 2020 hosting triumph

June 21 – Budapest may have arguably the best Euro 2020 atmosphere as the only stadium full to capacity but the choice of the city as one of the hosts has been blighted by a UEFA investigation into “potential discriminatory incidents” that are understood to refer to racist chanting and homophobic propaganda.

June 8 – In a potentially significant twist to the European Super League fallout, Spanish media are reporting that the Swiss Ministry of Justice has barred both UEFA and FIFA – which are based in Switzerland – from taking premature sanctions against the aborted league’s remaining founder members.

European Court to rule on whether FIFA/UEFA broke EU competition over ESL shut out

June 1 – The European Court of Justice has confirmed it has received an application to rule on the legal challenge by orchestrators of the aborted European Super League over whether FIFA and UEFA, in blocking the project, adopted an unfair monopoly that could be in breach of EU competition law.
