June 10 – With FIFA set to extend the transfer window deadline to the end of October, new data ranks the top 100 Big-5 league players by value and startlingly still give France and PSG wunderkind Kylian Mbappé a €259.2 million valuation.
March 12 – KPMG Football Benchmark have updated player market value estimates. Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar head the list of players with the likely highest transfer price tags, while Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martínez has increased his value more than any other player since November.
January 8 – A player valuation ranking by the CIES Football Observatory makes Kylian Mbappé (France and Paris St-Germain) the world’s most valuable player at €265.2 million, with Man City and England’s Raheem Sterling at €223.7 million.
June 25 – Market value estimates put England and Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho as the player with the highest increase in value in the world since the last transfer window – up €49.6 million to a transfer value of €95.7 million.
June 14 – Strikers top the latest transfer valuations of players in the five leading European leagues with PSG’s Kylian Mbappe now estimated to be worth a staggering €252 million, though his Brazilian teammate Neymar having lost more than 40% of his value dropping to €124.7 million.
April 3 – With the season now rapidly progressing towards its closing league stages across Europe and eyes starting to focus on summer transfer activity, the CIES Football Observatory has calculated the highest estimated transfer value per big-5 league club.
February 15 – The French football league (LFP) says it will join a lawsuit against the perpetrators of racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic graffiti targeting Paris St Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
January 7 – With the European winter transfer window now open, any club looking to buy at the top end of the player market is going to have to spend over €100 million, and to buy at the very top they would need more than €200 million – if the players were for sale.
December 10 – Two days after PSG issued a statement saying it would be selling neither Neymar or Kylian Mbappé to avoid any potential financial fair play sanctions, the Qatar National Bank (QNB) has announced star striker Neymar as its Global Brand Ambassador.
August 9 – France did the double in Russia this summer, not only winning the World Cup but also beating Brazil to the top of a ranking of countries who added the most social media followers during the tournament.
March 13 – Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah is now worth €74.7 million than he was on 1 September 2017, when the summer transfer window closed, according the latest stats by the CIES Football Observatory.
October 2 – In what other business could your value to an employer go up by over €50 million in just three months, doing exactly the same job you were doing three months earlier? And if you are to be valued at that level, and you are an asset rather than an employee, wouldn’t the smart business person cash in on that value?

September 1 – The window is closed, the brinkmanship is over and the domino effect has run its course. The result of which is that the English Premier League once again smashed its own summer transfer record with a total spend of more than £1.4 billion.
