April 25 – Aston Villa has announced plans to redevelop Villa Park’s North Stand, boosting the stadium’s capacity to more than 50,000 as they join the growing list of Premier League clubs undertaking stadium expansions.
January 7 – Benfica Football Club has announced ambitious plans to expand their iconic stadium in Lisbon to a 70,000-seat capacity.
November 1 – Premier League Ipswich Town have reached an “in-principle agreement” with Ipswich Borough Council to buy land behind their 29,673-capacity Portman Road stadium, with a portion of the Portman Road car park potentially earmarked for stadium development.

February 28 – Manchester City has unveiled design concepts for the expansion of the Etihad Stadium capacity to more than 60,000, and the creation of an upgraded entertainment, sport and leisure centre on a widened footprint of the Etihad Campus.
December 13 – Manchester City is looking at plans to increase the capacity of the Etihad stadium to 60,000 as well as boost facilities around the stadium footprint.
September 15 – Premier League Leicester City have been granted planning permission to extend their King Power Stadium by 8,000 seats.

July 30 – Leicester City plan to expand their King Power Stadium, increasing the venue’s capacity to more than 40,000.
July 1 – Belgian club Standard Liege have been given the green light by to expand their stadium capacity from 28.700 to 32.000.
August 23 – Premier League Liverpool are preparing plans for a further expansion of their Anfield stadium, pushing capacity to up to 62,000 from the current 54,000.
December 13 – The fractious relationship between Premier League club West Ham and their London Stadium landlords appears to have reached a break in hostilities with the club agreeing to pay about £450,000 extra per season to use London Stadium if the capacity is raised to 66,000 from the current 57,000.
