January 9- FIFA have globally banned yet another El Salvador player in relation to the ongoing match-fixing investigation conducted by the El Salvador Football Association.
In October, Fifa imposed worldwide bans on three more El Salvador players, who were not named but were originally banned by their federation for six months, 12 months and five years from all football-related activities, respectively.
So far, in an unwanted diversion from Concacaf’s efforts to enter a new era of honesty and integrity, 21 players have now been punished.
In statement Fifa said: “Following the worldwide extension of sanctions imposed on 21 El Salvador players in October and November 2013, the deputy chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the sanction of life ban from all football-related activity imposed on one additional El Salvador player.”
“The Disciplinary Committee of the El Salvador FA decided to impose the sanction on 11 November 2013 after investigations conducted by the El Salvador FA into incidents of match manipulation that occurred in international matches, including friendlies and CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, of the El Salvador national “A” team in 2010.”
