January 17 – Premier League Arsenal, via its newly launched ‘Innovation Lab’ initiative, has linked with six new technology companies to work with the club’s senior management team to identify business opportunities and develop new fan experiences.
One of the five is data-analytics firm Peak which will utilise its Artificial Intelligence-as-a-service model via its artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to explore areas the club could utilise and enhance data within its own business model.
Peak were one of just five companies selected by Arsenal after having received presentation pitches from 22 companies (selected from an original 250 applicants) via the Arsenal Innovation Lab forum.
Vinaj Venkatesham, CCO of Arsenal Football Club, said: “We are really looking forward to working with these six exciting startups over the next ten weeks and hopefully beyond. Innovation has always been at the heart of the club since its formation in 1886.
“Our aim is to create better experiences for our supporters all around the world, from retail experiences to digital content. We are looking forward to taking this next step in the Arsenal Innovation Lab and developing these pioneering ideas to take the club forward.”
