Man City expand Expo 2020 Dubai deal to training kit and esports

September 27 – UAE-owned Manchester City have upgraded their partneriship with Expo 2020 Dubai who will now become the Club’s new Training Kit Partner ahead of the opening of the six-month long event this Friday October 1 and which runs until 31 March 2022.

Expo 2020 branding will appear on City’s men’s and women’s training kits for the 2021/22 season.

The agreement will see Man City coaching staff host daily football sessions at Expo 2022, as well as staff and representatives taking part in various other Expo events. Expo 2022 branding will appear across the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy training facilities, as well as featuring on City’s digital platforms and the esports team’s kit.

Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive Officer for City Football Group (CFG), said: “We are delighted to unveil Expo 2020 Dubai as Manchester City’s new training kit partner. This partnership will integrate Expo 2020 as a core part of every training session and matchday as our teams challenge for success this season.

Expo 2020 will see exhibitors and visitors from more than 190 countries meet to showcase technology, culture and sport, with a focus on the values of innovation, sustainability and diversity.

While Manchester City will be the focus of the partnership, a club press release said it will be “amplified around the world” via CFG’s other owned clubs, including Mumbai City FC, New York City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama F. Marinos.

Expo 2020 is also an Official Partner of the Hero Indian Super League 2021 Champions, Mumbai City FC. Expo 2020 also has a partnership with AC Milan as well as having Lionel Messi as a global ambassador.
