Man City sign global crypto deal with OKX

March 4 – Manchester City have unveiled a multi-year global sponsorship with crypto exchange OKX, who will become club’s Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner.

It is OKX’s first sports sponsorship and will cover Man City men’s and women’s teams, as well as its esportsoperations. No value was given for the deal nor whether there was any cryptocurrency component to the agreement.

OKX operates in more than 180 markets and claims to be used by more than 20 million people.

The partnership will give OKX access to a number of exclusive experiences at the club as well as an in-stadiumpresence across the Etihad Stadium and Academy Stadium.

Perhaps more interestingly Man City, who have been trailblazers in the football world when it comes to digital projects, said they would “also look to explore future innovation projects together”.

Roel De Vries, Chief Operating Officer, City Football Group, said: “The new partnership aligns our shared values of innovation, drive for success and being at the cutting edge of our respective industries. Their broad and inclusive approach to targeting diverse audiences resonates with our approach. We look forward to working togetherthroughout the partnership.”

Jay Hao, CEO of OKX, emphasised that OKX’s mission was to be inclusive and to remove barriers to wealthcreation.

“Football and crypto share something important; they are for everyone, they create inclusivity within society,” said Hao.

“For OKX, Manchester City is a Club that represents the effect football has to make a positive difference in people’s lives, to bring people together around a shared love of the beautiful game. We are entering the Premier League forthe first time as City’s official crypto partner to celebrate this community spirit in the world of football because it’s something we both share.”
