March 10 – Manchester City owner, City Football Group, is entering the education business via a partnership with BrandEd,to launch the City Football Leadership Institute.
BrandEd operates business education courses taught by industry leaders from global iconic brands.TheCity Football Leadership Institute will be in a portfolio that in includes Sotheby’s Institute of Art, founded more than50 years ago with campuses in New York and London, and The School of The New York Times, operating since 2016 in New York and Washington.
The courses offered will range from introducing young talent to the sports business to boosting professional education for those already in executive roles. CFG said it will offer both scholarships and financial assistance toencourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.

The first programme, called Next Gen, is aimed at teens aged 15-18 and is an immersive two-week introduction to the world of sport (five full scholarships will be offered). The second programme, the Executive Accelerator, is aweek-long leadership programme for mid to senior-level professionals. Both programmes will take place in Londonand the Etihad Campus in Manchester.
