Premier League transfer talk: De Jong, Morata, Benrahma deals cooking

Transfer money record

August 16 – Premier League clubs have had a busy transfer window to date. Arsenal hit headlines after acquiring Gabriel Jesus from Man City who bulked up with the signing of Erling Haaland in July.

Aston Villa converted Philippe Coutinho’s loan to a permanent move while

Chelsea, who have been linked with multiple signings throughout the summer, brought in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manchester United secured a new manager in Erik Ten Hag and quickly signed Christian Eriksen from Brentford. Their opening performances in the league have been poor and it looks like their business is not done.

The transfer rumour mill is again reaching a frenetic peak. Below is an update on big-name players rumored to be leaving or joining the Premier League before September.

1—Frenkie De Jong to Chelsea

Frenkie De Jong has been at the center of transfer rumours throughout this summer. Big teams across Europe have been showing interest in the Dutch midfielder, with Chelsea and Man United leading the chase.

Barcelona initially wanted to keep De Jong on the condition that he takes a pay cut. The midfielder opposed the idea. The Spanish club then threatened to sue him if he wouldn’t agree to a salary reduction.

Amidst the contractual problems, Chelsea have reportedly offered Barcelona £68 million for De Jong. Barcelona were asking €80 million for the player, an amount Chelsea were willing to meet.

Chelsea are determined to contend for the Premier League title this season under their new owners, and signing De Jong would help them achieve this goal.

In the meantime, sportsbooks across Europe and the US are accepting bets on the EPL winner. If you believe Chelsea or any other team will win, find the best online gambling site. Look at the odds, and if you like the prospects, place your bet.

Many gambling sites also feature casino games. If you’re not a massive sports punter, you could also play slots, blackjack and poker.

2—Alvaro Morata to Man United

Spanish club Atletico Madrid want to get rid of striker Alvaro Morata. He’s been on loan at Juventus, but Madrid does not want to loan him out again.

Instead, Atletico would rather sell Morata, and they believe he would be a good fit at Manchester United. Although new manager Erik Han Tag isn’t overly eager to sign a striker, he would be okay with a player willing to warm the bench as a backup for Ronaldo and Martial. And Morata fills that description precisely.

3—Sandro Tonali to Arsenal

Arsenal have been pretty active this transfer window, spending more than £145 million to acquire the services of Zinchenko, Jesus, Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos. According to club manager, Arteta, the job is not yet done.

Arsenal are in talks with 22-year-old midfielder Sandro Tonali. AC Milan are willing to sell the player, but they want £47 million for him. The Italian youngster has a 5-year contract with Milan, but Arteta is determined to sign a midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

4—Yeremy Pino to Arsenal

As already mentioned, Arsenal are not yet done with signing new players and are reportedly willing to spend £33 million for 19-year-old right Villareal player, Yeremy Pino.

Pino has been outstanding for the Spanish club. He was initially valued at £66 million. But after Villareal failed to make it past the Conference League, manager Unai Emery looks likely to accept Arsenal’s bid.

5—West Ham to sell Said Benrahma

Although West Ham signed Said Benrahma only a year ago, manager David Moyes is willing to sell him for the right amount. Moyes paid £30 million to acquire the Algerian’s services from Brentford. However, Moyes believes the winger lacks the consistency he needs in his team. West Ham have already bolstered their midfield if Said leaves: Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet coming in.

6—Raul de Tomas to Aston Villa

Aston Villa’s pursuit of Espanyol’s striker Raul de Tomas seems to be headed in the right direction. Espanyol’s chairman allegedly wants the striker sold, which means he could accept Villa’s £30 million bid.

Villa isn’t the only Premier League club interested in Tomas, though. West Ham, Newcastle and Everton are also being linked with the 27-year-old.

7—Pablo Mari to leave Arsenal

Many Arsenal fans agree that Arteta has done a good job this transfer window. However, a section of the fans has been hoping the manager could offload non-performing players from the club.

One of the players set to leave the London club throughout the summer has been defender Pablo Mari. According to reports Mari’s departure from Arsenal to Italian club Monza, is a done deal. The defender will leave on loan for a season, but Monza will be obligated to buy him if the club manages to avoid relegation.

8—Chelsea Interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea are interested in signing former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. This comes after the Blues offloaded striker Timo Werner in an abrupt return to his former club, RB Leipzig.

The Gabonese player has said he’s happy at Barcelona. But there is a problem. He’s 33 years-old and Barcelona are in need of money. Should Chelsea offer a generous amount, Barcelona will have no reason not to sell him.

Barcelona have been trying to sell some of the club’s highest-paid players this summer and have offered three to Chelsea: Memphis Depay, Frenkie De Jong and Aubameyang.

9—Barcelona wants Bernardo Silva

Both Barcelona and Bernardo Silva want this move to happen. But City don’t seem to agree. As a result, it has turned into a saga similar to De Jong’s issues with the Catalonian club.

Like many transfer sagas, City’s refusal to sell Silva all comes down to the price. The Cityzens want a big fee for the Portuguese international. Earlier on, there had been rumors that Barcelona were willing to spend €50 million for the midfielder. But City wants a much bigger fee—an amount close or equal to €80 million.

10—Spurs Nearing Deal with left back Destiny Udogie

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Italian club Udinese to acquire the services of left-back Destiny Udogie. The 19-year-old was impressive last season.

A few clubs have declared interests in his services. But Tottenham ertr the first premier league club to make a serious offer at £21 millin. If the deal is finalized, the Daily Mail reports Spurs will loan Udogie back to Udinese for at least one year.
