UEFA Women’s Football signs EA Sports as 9th partner

October 19 – While FIFA is winding down its partnership with EA Sports, UEFA is cranking theirs up, signing a multi-year deal to sponsor UEFA Women’s Football.

The new agreement will see the Women’s Champions League feature in EA SPORTS FIFA 23, as well as EA support for UEFA’s Together #WePlayStrong platform, which is aimed at getting more girls and women to play football.

Nadine Kessler, UEFA’s chief of women’s football said: “We are also thrilled to see the UEFA Women’s Champions League being integrated into EA SPORTS FIFA 23. It feels like a natural fit for the world’s best women’s club competition to be part of the world’s leading football simulation game. This is another major step in the women’s game and an ideal additional platform for the female athletes contributing to its success.”

The Women’s Champions League will feature in EA SPORTS FIFA 23, with the knockout stages of this year’s competition becoming available on the platform in early 2023.

EA SPORTS also unveiled their new $11 million ‘Starting XI Fund’, which will incorporate in-game, league, club and athlete investments aimed at progressing the women’s game. EA SPORTS also said it will fund a women’s football internship program with each new and existing women’s league partner

Andrea Hopelain, SVP Brand, EA SPORTS said: “EA SPORTS is at the epicentre of global football fandom and this partnership reinforces our dedication to showcase top talent from across the globe, our unrivalled authenticity, and our commitment to be change makers of the future of the sport.”
