August 21 – England Captain Harry Kane, who scored on his Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich at the weekend, has signed a first-of-its-kind lifetime boot deal with sportswear brand Skechers.
Kane is undergoing a trio of significant career shifts – a new home, a fresh team dynamic, and a notable a switch of footwear, as he introduces his own model of Skechers Football boots, the SKX_01.
The €100 million man is the first to endorse the new boots, which are the first model released by the footwear giants as they branch out their stock into football.
He was seen playing in covered-up version of the boots in the DFB-Supercup, but has now unveiled the boot’s design.
Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel started Kane in the Bavarian’s league opener versus Werder Bremer. Following a shambolic showing versus RB Leipzig in a 3-0 thumping in the DFB-Supercup, Kane and his new boots were swift to make amends as Bayern thumped Werder Bremen 4-0, with Kane setting up Leroy Sane for the first goal and scoring the second.
Speaking on instagram to his 15.7million followers, Kane said: “The wait is over! So happy to join the Skechers Football family. Love the feel of the boots and there’s loads more to come in this partnership.”
Skechers president Michael Greenberg revealed that the company worked closely with Kane to perfect its boots.
“Harry had the entire football world following his every move over the last few weeks and his determination, skill, and leadership align perfectly with our plans for the sport,” said Greenberg.
“He already feels like part of the Skechers family. This first boot is just the beginning with more innovative Skechers Football boots featuring our signature comfort and performance technologies on the way.”
