September 8 – Turkey’s Galatasaray have signed a training kit sponsorship contract with GKN Cargo, one of the leading companies in corporate cargo solutions in Turkey.
Under the new agreement the GKN Cargo logo will be placed on the back of Galatasaray training kit in a one-year deal reportedly valued at between €3-5 million.
Last month, GKN Cargo announced partnerships with two other Turkish clubs – Gaziantep FK and Şanlıurfaspor.
“I wish this cooperation with GKN Cargo, one of the leading brands of the corporate cargo sector, to be long-lasting… In the essence and DNA of Galatasaray, there is success without hiding behind any excuses, working for it. Today, we do the same thing, we work non-stop for the goals we set. As of today, we have established the team with the highest market value in Turkish Football history. I sincerely believe that this team will carry us to the successes we miss in Europe, not only with its value on paper, but also with the quality it puts on the field. As a matter of fact, we took the first step of this process by staying in the groups in the Champions League,” said said Galatasaray president Dursun Aydın Özbek.
“As we move towards this success, I find it very valuable to have brands with the same dreams as us. In order to increase our revenues, the number of these agreements needs to be increased even more. We continue to work for this.”
Erden Timur, Deputy Chairman of Galatasaray added: “In all branches, the financial aspect of the business is one of the most important issues in terms of sustainability. In this context, sponsorships are very important. I would like to thank GKN Cargo, Akyürek family and especially Gökhan Bey. They express their desire to be with Galatasaray in every way. When necessary, they can sign it immediately. It is one of the firsts in this sense in Turkey.”
