Nissan partners with Man City charity as equality, diversity and inclusion partner

December 1 – Manchester City’s charitable arm, City in the Community, has unveiled Nissan as its first Official Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Partner. 

The collaboration emphasises joint commitment towards fostering equality, diversity, and inclusivity within the community.

Nissan, which has been Manchester City’s Official Automotive Partner and the first global partner of City Football Group since 2014, will support all of the charity’s disability and LGBTQ+ projects for the next two years.

City in the Community and Nissan have ha a strategic alliance across various initiatives since 2021. Among these initiatives is the Nissan Possibilities Project, aimed at fostering increased opportunities for individuals from underrepresented communities. Additionally, their collaboration includes support for City in the Community’s Blue Run fundraiser.

Sam Dainty, Head of Partnerships and Fundraising at City in the Community, said: “Inclusion is embedded into City in the Community, and we are passionate about breaking down barriers to participation so people in Greater Manchester can achieve their full potential. Not only does Nissan align with our values but also allows us to further expand our work.

“This relationship has been incredibly successful so far and we look forward to sustaining, and developing exciting opportunities for, our disability and LGBTQ+ work throughout this new agreement.”

Manchester City will christen its new charitable partnership at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the treble winner’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur by hosting a variety of activities around the ground’s footprint to celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities.
