Sancho set to return to Dortmund on loan

January 5 – The long drawn out saga of Jadon Sancho and Manchester United may finally be reaching its conclusion with the news that the banished England international is on the verge of a return to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho has been on the sidelines at Old Trafford under Erik Ten Hag despite The Red Devils splashing £72 million on him in 2021.

When he headed to United he was considered one of the hottest properties in world football but his time at Old Trafford has become a nightmare for both parties.

The 23-year-old came off the bench for the first three matches of this season before being left out of the squad.

Ten Hag claimed he had been omitted because of poor performances in training but Sancho denied that on social media and insisted he had been made a “scapegoat” for United’s disappointing campaign.

He eventually deleted the post but has since refused to apologise to Ten Hag over the incident and has been ostracised ever since and made to train away from the first-team facilities.

Media reports now claim he is about to rejoin Dortmund on a six-month loan deal with the Bundesliga side paying a modest loan fee and only a portion of his salary.
