August 28 – The Bulgarian Football Union has launched a strategic partnership with Ubitrack Sport, a software company specialising in optical systems for tracking and analysing football matches.
The collaboration aims to implement innovative technology for detailed analysis of the performance of elite youth in Bulgaria.
Within the framework of the partnership, Ubitrack Sport will process video recordings of official matches provided by the Bulgarian Football Union and, through its own developed artificial intelligence, will extract detailed statistical data on the positioning and actions of football players. The results will be available both as structured analytical data and in the form of easy-to-understand visualisations on the online platform UbiStats.
“Our mission is to make the elite level of football analysis accessible not only to leading men’s clubs, but also to academies, women’s teams and all levels of the game. We believe that through Ubitrack Sport’s technology we will support coaches, analysts and players in the development process, as well as agents and scouts in discovering new talents,” the company said in a statement.
The Bulgarian FA said: “With this step, the BFU reinforces its commitment to using innovation and modern technologies to support Bulgarian football and build the next generation of national players.”
Ubitrack Sport has received investment from Overkill Ventures Fund I AIF KS, with co-financing by the European Regional Development Fund through the Latvian National Development Plan 2020. The investment amount is €40,000. An additional €50,000 investment was provided by Innovation Capital Fund KDA, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme “Innovation and Competitiveness” 2014–2020, managed by the Fund of Funds in Bulgaria.
