December 4 – The 2025 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup wrapped up in Kingston, Jamaica with a wild, tense second leg that encapsulated just how far the region’s competitions have come.
Mount Pleasant FA battled to a 2-2 draw against Universidad O&M FC at Independence Park, enough to seal a 3-2 win on aggregate and become champions of the Caribbean. It also makes them the second Jamaican club in a row to lift the trophy, following Cavalier FC’s triumph last year.
The final itself had everything. An early red card, VAR reviews, and a late, late goal to seal the deal.
O&M played with ten men from the 27th minute after Júnior Capellán was sent off. The visitors’ superstar forward Herard Frantzety then banged home the opener late in the first half.
Mount Pleasant answered just after the hour mark, when Warner Brown poked home a tap-in that held up after a VAR check. Even with a man down, O&M went ahead again when Julen Olasagasti glanced a header over the keeper.
But Mount Pleasant would not be denied. With the clock ticking down, Tyreek Magee fired a low left-footed finish that sealed both the match and the cup.
Both teams had already booked their tickets to the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup by reaching the final. As Caribbean champions, Mount Pleasant also earn a bye straight into the Round of 16.
Looking at the bigger picture in the region, this tournament is becoming a bigger stage every year. Under Victor Montagliani’s leadership, CONCACAF has put real muscle behind all of its competitions.
Prize money has improved, formats have tightened up, and the Caribbean and Central American cups now feel like meaningful pathways. The atmosphere, the quality, and the storylines keep growing.
