VakıfBank puts its money on the future success of Turkish national teams

The deal was signed at the TFF Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities, between TFF President İbrahim Ethem Hacıosmanoğlu and VakıfBank General Manager Osman Arslan, alongside senior board members and technical staff. No value or term was given for the agreement,

The deal comes at a historic moment for Turkish football, following the teams qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ending a 24-year gap since they last played in the finals.

TFF President Hacıosmanoğlu emphasised that this collaboration is more than just a financial agreement;  saying it is a union of two deep-rooted Turkish institutions aimed at sustained international success.

“This meaningful unity will bring new and lasting achievements to Turkish football. We are meeting here with the immense pride of being a Federation of a country headed to the World Cup… Our players have once again shown the power of Turkish football to the whole world,” said Hacıosmanoğlu.

He also highlighted the broader progress of Turkish football, noting the men’s team’s rise to the UEFA Nations League A and the ongoing performance of the Women’s national team in World Cup qualifying where they are on course for the knockout qualifying rounds.

VakıfBank General Manager Osman Arslan expressed the bank’s long-standing connection to sports. While VakıfBank is globally recognised for its dominance in women’s volleyball, Arslan noted that the bank’s history with football dates back to its founding years in the 1950s.

“I believe our national team will write history once again at the World Cup and make us proud. When it comes to the national team, life stops for us… Backed by the support of VakıfBank and our country, our national teams will experience and provide many more historic victories,” added Arslan.

Arslan also reiterated the bank’s commitment to social responsibility and youth development: “We know that the children of this country will continue to dream through sports. Inspired by ‘Our Boys’, they will experience the joy of scoring goals in the streets. Our girls will also carry our flag to the top in football.”

As of early 2026, VakıfBank has grown into one of Turkey’s two largest banks by asset size, surpassing 5.5 trillion TL ($125 billion) in balance sheet volume. The bank intends to use its economic strength to touch lives through social initiatives, with the national team sponsorship serving as a cornerstone of this vision for the ‘Century of Turkey’.
