June 18 – Three Qatari FA execs are currently working the 2025 Gold Cup circuit as part of the collaboration between Concacaf and the hosts of the 2022 World Cup that has provided an on-going legacy and international knowledge exchange programme.
Ali Al-Salat, Saad Safar Al-Kawari and Hussein Al-Sharshani are contributing the expertise they gained from the milestone edition of FIFA World Cup in middle east. Qatar played at the last three editions of the Gold Cup but are not present in 2025. Neighbours Saudi Arabia are playing, giving an Arabic flavour to the North and Central American and Caribbean nations.
Al-Salat is a media officer in Los Angeles and was in action in Sofi Stadium when Mexico took on Dominican Republic in Group A. Al-Salat, a multi-language speaker, is the long-time Head of Media at the Qatar Football Association.
Ali Safar Al-Kawari who took charge from Al-Salat as the media officer of the Qatar senior National Team soon after Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, is contributing his share as a sunrise media officer in Austin and was present at Pay Pal Park in the opening game between the host nation and Trinidad & Tobago.
Hussein Al-Sharshani, a competition coordinator in the 2025 Gold Cup, has had a long career as a former football referee. Al-Sharshani was on duty for the Mexico vs Dominican Republic opening day clash in the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
The three Qatari professionals will continue their mission until the end of the 2025 Gold Cup in Houston on July 7.
