Bayern Munich close to buying Unterhaching Sports Park for its academy and women’s teams

November 5 – Bayern Munich are in negotiations to buy a sports park from the City for €7.5 million to replace the Bayern Campus, the home of the club’s youth and women’s team who have played there since 2017.

The Bayern Campus has a stadium that only has a capacity of 2,500 spectators.

German media say the sale of the Unterhaching Sports Park to Bayern is at an advance stage. The Sports Park has a 15,000 capacity.

It is currently the home of regional league team Spielvereinigung Unterhaching which has tried unsuccessfully on several occasions to buy the stadium.

The Hachinger team played in the Bundesliga from 1999 to 2002, with its home games at the Unterhaching Sports Park.

Bayern’s women’s team, who recently attracted a record crowd of more than 50,000 at the Allianz Arena, are expected to be the Unterhaching Sports Park’s main tenant.
