Tyler Kurz from True North fills new role at NSL

December 16 – The Northern Super League (NSL) has appointed Tyler Kurz as Vice President, Club & League Servicesa newlycreated role focused on supporting clubs and strengthening league-wide operations.

Kurz brings more than 20 years’ experience across sport, technology and data-led commercial strategy. He joins NSL, the top-division professional women’s league in Canada, from True North Sports + Entertainment, where he oversaw analytics and technology projects designed to improve both revenue performance and organisational efficiency. Before that, he spent 15 years at Bell MTS, working across senior marketing, sales and analytics roles.

In his new role, Kurz will be responsible for setting up and leading an all-new department designed to give teams practical support as the competition continues to grow. His brief includes helping clubs better use data, technology and digital tools across key areas such as ticketing, partnerships, marketing and fan engagement.

Rather than operating in isolation, the role is designed to operate between league headquarters and individual clubs, with Kurz working closely with executives across the competition to share insight, build common systems and raise standards across all markets – sure signs of a league increasingly focusing on scalability and operational consistency as it moves beyond its launch phase.

With a second season scheduled to begin in spring 2026, the NSL is continuing to invest behind the scenes in the structures it believes are needed to support long-term growth.

“As we build a modern league designed for long-term success, Tyler’s track record in high-performance organisations gives us a significant competitive advantage,” said Christina Litz, President of the Northern Super League. “His leadership strengthens the NSL’s ambitions to scale rapidly and compete with the best sports leagues globally.”

“The inaugural season proved the market appetite for professional women’s soccer is real,” said Kurz. “There’s a tremendous opportunity to accelerate the NSL’s next stage of growth by building integrated systems and data-informed operations that enable every club to compete at the highest level.”
