February 19 – Kansas City’s local World Cup organisers have confirmed details for the area’s FIFA Fan Festival, which is set to be a free, multi-week celebration right in the heart of the city.
The fan fest will align with World Cup matchdays in the city, games involving the US men’s national team and 4 July, which this year marks the country’s 250th anniversary.
Some days will be fully programmed, while others will encourage visitors to explore the city across the metro using the tournament’s regional transportation network.
Each week will carry a different theme. The opening stretch, Heartland Hello (June 11–14 and 16), sets the tone built around food, and hospitality. Sports Town USA (June 19–21) leans into the city’s sports culture, while The World’s Game (June 24–27) celebrates football as a global language.
The festival rolls into July with Home Team (July 3–5), blending World Cup viewing with the feel of a backyard Fourth of July celebration, before closing with KC Creates (July 9–11), a showcase of the city’s artists, musicians, and creative voices.
Attendance will be free, though registration through the FIFA app will be required.
