February 25 – Nashville wasted no time in stamping their mark on the second leg of their Champions Cup tie against Atletico Ottawa scoring after 21 minuted and going on to add another four.
The first leg in Ottawa last week saw the Canadians hold Nashville to a 2-0 lead, giving them some hope for the second leg.
That hope was extinguished at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee, when Alex Muyl opened the scoring following up on rebound from a Woobens Pacius header that was saved by Garissone Innocent.
Nashville doubled their lead in the 36th minute when Jordan Knight blasted a right-footed shot past the keeper.
Pacius, who scored the first goal in Ottawa, scored again in Nashville on the 55th minuted after an Innocent save fell to him close in.
Jack Maher extended the lead by heading in a free-kick delivered by Bryan Acosta in the 63rd minute.
Ahmed Qasem put the finishing touches on the victory in the 83’ by capping off a brilliant build-up passing sequence.
Nashville now play reigning MLS Cup champions Inter Miami CF in the Round of 16 in March.
