HNS secures financial future with new media rights deal

March 3 – The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has signed a historic agreement with partners Hrvatski Telekom and SuperSport for media and marketing rights. The signing ceremony, held at the Garden Inn by Hilton in Zagreb, solidifies the financial future of Croatian club football for the next five seasons.

The new deal, which spans the 2026/27 season through the end of the 2030/31 season, represents the most valuable investment in the domestic league’s history.

The total investment across the five years reaches €61.7 million. Hrvatski Telekom will invest €49.2 million for television and media rights. SuperSport is investing €12.5 million for marketing and betting rights.

HNS President Marijan Kustić said: “Four years ago, the first agreement was a big deal, but now the investments are even larger. I remember last season’s finale when three teams could have won the title in the final round—it showed that the whole of Croatia was glued to their screens. That is our greatest victory.”

Nataša Rapaić, CEO of Hrvatski Telekom, described the partnership as a “win-win” situation, highlighting the synergy between high-quality sports content and telecommunications.

“Croatian clubs provide the best content, and we make that content accessible to all our MAXtv users. Football is the most important secondary thing in the world, and we are excited to continue this journey”, she added.

“SuperSport is a major investor in Croatian sport. Our goal is to provide maximum assistance to the sport, and we are pleased to sign this new contract alongside Hrvatski Telekom”, said Goran Đurić, Board Member of SuperSport

Krešimir Madunović, Board Member of Hrvatski Telekom, highlighted a specific clause in the new contract aimed at long-term growth.

“Good pitches increase the quality of football and viewership. We have decided to allocate a portion of the funds from this new contract specifically for the renovation of pitches and infrastructure. This will raise both the attractiveness of the game and the quality of the TV production.”
