NISA and LPF MX create cross-border alliance to grow ‘independent’ leagues

May 16 – US third tier professional league NISA (The National Independent Soccer Association) has linked with the professional league Liga Profesional de Futbol Mexicano (LPF MX) in a bid to drive the growth of both leagues and their clubs across their shared borders.

May 6 – Former FIFA vice president and Concacaf president Jack Warner will not be getting a final pay day from football as he battles extradition to the US where he has been indicted on multiple charges of fraud, money laundering, racketeering and corruption.

Seattle Sounders break Mexican grip on Champions League with history making win over Pumas

May 5 – MLS club Seattle Sounders broke the vice-like grip LigaMX clubs have held on the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League with a 3-0 win over Pumas UNAM in the second leg of the final at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.

April 27 – A fourth head coach in the 12-team National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has been stood down following the league’s investigation into “discrimination, harassment, abuse, and bullying”.

April 26 – While Jack Warner tops the list of Trinidad and Tobago FA’s list of creditors filed at a local court as part of the TTFA’s insolvency proceedings – he is claiming $3 million – two other English names high up the list will raise eyebrows and interest in Europe.

Jack Warner still in the game as he tops list of TTFA creditors with $3m claim

April 25 – The world’s most wanted football criminal, Jack Warner, has emerged at the top of a list of unsecured creditors compiled by the Trinidad and Tobago FA’s (TTFA) trustee Maria Daniel. The document, filed with the Trinidad and Tobago court, lists Warner’s claim at TT$22.6 million ($3.38 million).

April 20 – Women’s World Champions USA have been drawn with 2019 World Cup qualifiers Jamaica and Concacaf’s third-highest ranked nation Mexico in the Concacaf W Championship that kicks off in Monterrey, Mexico, July 4-18.
