Mexico lead qualifying as finalists lined up for inaugural Concacaf W Championship in July

April 14 – Mexico secured qualification to the eight-team 2022 Concacaf W Championship they are hosting in Monterey, Mexico, with a convincing 6-0 win over Puerto Rico in their final game of group qualifying.

TTFA creditors settlement deadline nears as Lawrence wins High Court judgement

April 12 – Another hard-to-celebrate milestone for the beleaguered Trinidad and Tobago FA is expected in the next 10 days with the Trustee of the TTFA, charged with resolving the TTFA’s debt problems, expected to make a formal offer to the association’s long suffering creditors.

April 5 – US national team and Portland Thorns star Crystal Dunn has been named 2021 Concacaf Women’s player of the year, while Canada and Bayern Munich standout Alphonso Davies has taken the men’s award.

US lose to Costa Rica but qualify for 2022 on goal difference. Ticos now face Kiwis

March 31 – Lightening almost struck twice. The US were knocked out of World Cup qualifying for Russia 2018 after losing to a better organised and prepared Trinidad and Tobago. Last night they hung on to their automatic 2022 qualification place on goal difference.

MLS must let its teams ‘off the leash’, says broadcast partner

March 15 – With the MLS domestic broadcast rights package currently in market with a new cycle coming up, one of the league’s biggest broadcast partners has said that to compete internationally the MLS needs to “release the leash” and lets its teams grow beyond their local boundaries.
