FIFA agrees special CWC transfer window allowing teams to sign new players for tournament
May 22 – FIFA has confirmed its special Club World Cup transfer window has been approved by the 20 member federations that have teams in the 32-team tournament that kicks off June 14 in the US.
The special 10-day window (June 1 -10) means that teams will be allowed to sign new players for the tournament. Closing on June 10, the European summer transfer window will open fully June 16 and close September 1.
Mexico’s clubs take FMF and Liga MX to CAS with demand to reinstate promotion and relegation
May 20 – The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) and 18 clubs from Liga MX are facing a legal battle with 10 clubs from the Mexico’s second tier who are demanding a return to the promotion and relegation system between the two leagues that was put on hold for the 2019/20 season when the Covid pandemic hit.
The claim filed with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) yesterday is being made on behalf of 10 of the 15 clubs who play in Liga MX Expansión.
