Osasuna members force club to rethink Kirolbet shirt sponsorship

October 30 – LaLiga’s Osasuna will meet with betting firm Kirolbet who hold the club’s main shirt sponsorship to discuss the possibility of terminating the contract early. The current contract ends in 2021.

October 29 – Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town say they “want the real winner to be football” when they re-stage an FA Cup match tonight after the original game was abandoned when the team players walked off the pitch because of racial abuse.

October 28 – SIGA (Sports Integrity Global Alliance) has expanded its base in South America with the addition of  Brazil’s Pacto pelo Esporte joining the integrity organisation’s growing membership and adding a corporate backbone to the sports integrity lobby.

Bility pays CAS costs for CAF and FIFA to force hearing on legality of African takeover

October 26 – Musa Hassan Bility, the former Liberia FA boss, who has taken FIFA and CAF to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), has been compelled to pay CHF 42,000 in additional arbitral costs, to ensure his case is heard.

October 23 – Yet another incident of racism has plagued English football with Manchester United indefinitely banning a supporter who allegedly directed racist abuse at a Liverpool player in Sunday’s globally televised 1-1 draw between the two fierce rivals.

St Pauli axe Turkish midfielder Sahin for supporting war on Kurds

October 15 – Germany’s St Pauli have parted company with their Turkish midfielder Cenk Sahin, after he posted support of Turkey’s military offensive against the Kurds on social media. Sahin will return his old club Istanbul Basaksehir.

Racism crisis: Two strikes but they stay. England and Bulgaria play out ugly qualifier

October 15 – Forget the 6-0 scoreline, impressive though it was. The resurgence of racism sweeping through European football reached a new low at international level on Monday when England’s Euro 2020 qualifier in Bulgaria was halted twice after home fans were warned about racist behaviour including Nazi salutes and monkey chanting.
