September 16 – FIFA’s technical study group (TSG) has hailed the recent Women’s World Cup as the best edition ever in terms of quality of play. The France 2019 World Cup saw the United States retain their title beating European champions the Netherlands 2-0 in the final.
September 13 – Arsenal and Manchester City have all but ensured their passage to the round of 16 of the Women’s Champions League after big wins against Fiorentina and Lugano. Defending champions Lyon trashed Russian club Ryazan 9-0.
September 12 – After the popular success of the opening weekend of the Women’s Super League (WSL), the English FA wants to capitalise on the momentum by urging fans to attend its first Women’s Football Weekend on 16-17 November, during the men’s international break.

September 11 – Sahar Khodayari, an Iranian female football fan, who set herself on fire a week ago outside a courthouse, has died. She had been arrested trying to enter a football stadium.
September 9 – The English Women’s Super League enjoyed record attendances during the opening weekend of the new season with the six first fixtures attracting almost 63,000 fans.
September 6 – With the Women’s Super League kicking off this weekend, Everton’s women’s team will open their campaign against Birmingham City Women with a new name. Everton Ladies will now be known as Everton.

September 5 – The Reggae Girlz have had enough. In a payment dispute with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), the Jamaican national women’s team say they will refuse to train or play until the players receive what the JFF owns them.

August 28 – FIFA will launch a new proposal to revive the creation of a Women’s World League within the next year, according to the organisation’s head of women’s development and governance Emily Shaw. In 2018 the FIFA Council failed to approve the introduction of the new competition.

August 28 – The Belgian FA (KBVB) has unveiled an ambitious five-year plan to develop and grow the women’s game, investing an additional €3 million into the domestic women’s game over the next two seasons.
August 27 – Iran may be on the verge of allowing women into football stadia after a long campaign of pressure from FFIA, the AFC and various fan groups. Local news agency IRNA has reported that women will be allowed to attend Team Melli’s World Cup qualifier against Cambodia in October.
August 21 – Leigh Sports Village in Greater Manchester will replace Nottingham Forest’s City Ground as one of the nine venues for the Women’s Euro in 2021, the English FA announced on Tuesday.
