October 17 – Two English players top an ‘experience’ ranking of young players. Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho (pictured) and Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon lead the way in a top 20 that has ten young players coming from Europe’s Big 5 leagues and four of them from England’s Premier League.

ESSA data shows match-fixing still a danger to football integrity and a threat to esports

February 14 – Sports betting integrity body ESSA reported 267 match-fixing alerts to the relevant sporting and/or regulatory authorities for investigation in 2018, 83 of those cases were reported in the last quarter.

December 4 – Fans who want to see the ball in play get the best value of money in Europe’s Big 5 leagues if they watch the Bundesliga where the ball is in play on average 58.5% of the time. Sweden’s Allsvenskan tops the list of European leagues though with the ball in play 60.2% of the time.
